Change
My interest in Complementary Therapies began some 20 years ago. My first steps began in 2001 with the discovery of Reiki. I had the pleasure of practising this gentle therapy for many years.
Following a change in work circumstances, I moved to South Wales in 2003. It was during my settling-in period that I first discovered Reflexology. I was looking for a therapy to help me find some balance as I was experiencing lots of changes in my life. After just a couple of sessions I was sleeping much better, my overall mood was more positive, my skin became clear again and I felt re-energised.
Intensive Training
In the summer of 2006 I enrolled at the excellent Inspira Academy of Reflexology & Reiki in the vale of Glamorgan and I was more than a little bewildered about how much work was before me. The course duration was 12 months and included an in-depth study of anatomy & physiology, many hours of theory and practice, internal & external examinations, plus submitting 100 case studies! At the time, this was one of the most stringent reflexology courses in the UK and I really felt it!
I was still working full-time and spent most of my free time studying and practising. Although tough at times, I knew that I was being taught at a very high level and that upon completion of this course my qualification would become my professional benchmark. I left Inspira in 2007 with distinction in hand. I have truly never looked back.
